Karla Sangrey

Karla Sangrey is the Engineer-Director/Treasurer at Upper Blackstone Clean Water in Millbury, MA. Ms. Sangrey has worked for the Upper Blackstone since 2004 and is responsible for the overall administration and operation of the treatment facility. Upper Blackstone provides wastewater treatment to the City of Worcester and several surrounding communities, serving a population of about 250,000. Upper Blackstone’s advanced biological nutrient removal process produces a high quality effluent to protect the water quality of the Blackstone River and the Narragansett Bay into which the Blackstone eventually discharges. Previously, Ms. Sangrey was a Principal with the consulting firm CDM Smith. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University and a Master of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She is a registered Professional Engineer and a Massachusetts Grade 7 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. Ms. Sangrey is a member of the New England Water Environment Association and the Massachusetts Water Pollution Control Association and serves on the advisory board of the Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics Institute.
