Joshua Schimmel is the Executive Director of the Springfield Water and Sewer Commission, a regional provider of water and sewer services to approximately 250,000 people in the greater Springfield area of Massachusetts. Prior to becoming the Executive Director, Mr. Schimmel was the Director of Wastewater Operations for the Commission and started his career as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. He is active in local, regional, and national organizations including MWWA and NEWEA. Mr. Schimmel currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Coalition for Water Resource Stewardship and is its Vice President. Mr. Schimmel also on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Clean Water Agencies. Mr. Schimmel holds a BS degree in Environmental Science from the University of Massachusetts.
